AAUW UKIAH is raising funds by searching for an Official Mascot for 2023

This is a fun way for us to earn funds to support our important work in Mendocino County. Our branch provides scholarships to women returning to college, accolades to high school girls, STEM camp scholarships to Middle school girls, hosts programs to both members and the community, co-hosts Candidate Forums and Women’s History Galas. We are currently working on establishing an AAUW student club at the Mendocino College.
This Fundraising Contest is open to all Mendocino County animal lovers. You can enter your pet, or pets in the competition up until January 29, 2023 by sending an Entry Form, a current picture(s), plus an entrance donation of $10 (per pet) via Paypal or by mail to AAUW Ukiah Branch.
Pictures will be posted on the website as they are received and occasionally in newspapers and on Facebook.
How do you vote? Voting begins Jan 30 and ends on Feb 16, 2023. Anyone can vote. Look at pictures of adorable animals and vote for your favorites on the website or by mail. – A donation is required to vote.
1 vote – $5 or 3 Votes – $10 or 10 votes – $20
The most number of votes will win so encourage everyone you know to vote. The Winner will be announced at a live event on Feb 18, 2023 at the Saturday Afternoon Clubhouse in Ukiah. What do you win? In addition to the prestigious title of Official AAUW Mascot, and all the publicity, love and admiration you and your loved one receives, you will get a portrait painting of your pet by acclaimed pet artist, Alyssa Jose. The winner’s photograph will be used for AAUW publicity and in the monthly AAUW newsletter and in local newspapers and on Facebook.
